Fractional marketing · B2B SaaS & healthtech
Hi, I'm Cody. I turn marketing spend into pipeline.
For fifteen years I've run marketing inside SaaS, healthtech, and fintech companies — as the person accountable for the number, not the person presenting the slide about it. Now I help a small number of teams do the same: clear strategy, honest measurement, and the channels your buyers actually use today.

Each one comes from the CRM, ad platform, or analytics tool that produced it — and each has a story you can read below.
Case studies
The stories behind the numbers
In-house · Marketing Director · Healthtech SaaS
Rebuilding a demand engine around the right customer
A repositioned website, restructured ad accounts, and an AI assistant that books meetings on its own — told honestly, including what it took.
Agency client · UL EHS Sustainability
The paid search overhaul that finally made sales happy
Conversions grew to seven times baseline while cost per lead fell to a sixth of what it had been — and lead quality rose with it, which is the part clients remember.
In-house · Senior Marketing Manager · Fintech
A hundred thousand leads without losing the economics
Multi-channel acquisition at consumer scale, landing pages converting at two to three times the norm, and automation that tripled email conversion.
In-house · Digital Marketing Manager · Healthcare IT
Meeting rural hospital buyers where they actually were
Careful buyers don't fill out forms. A conversational chatbot, a rebuilt demo funnel, and patient SEO work turned that reality into pipeline.
How I help
One person, the whole funnel
I work strategy through execution — I don't hand you a deck and disappear. Every engagement is scoped against a pipeline goal we agree on together.
Fractional marketing leadership
Your marketing function, led part-time: strategy, budget, channel mix, team and agency coordination, and reporting your board will actually trust.
Answer-engine optimization
Your next customer is asking ChatGPT who to consider. I measure how visible you are in AI assistants today, and build the content and structure to improve it.
Automation & AI assistants
Lifecycle programs that nurture patiently, then hand warm prospects to AI assistants that research, personalize, and book the meeting — so nothing goes cold.
Paid media & SEO
The unglamorous foundations — account structure, conversion tracking, technical SEO — that quietly decide whether everything else works.
About
The marketer who builds his own tools
I've spent fifteen years on both sides of the table: inside SaaS, healthtech, and fintech companies as the person who owns the pipeline number, and inside agencies as the consultant clients asked for by name. That range is the whole point — I can set strategy in the morning and fix the ad account, the CRM, or the attribution model in the afternoon.
I'm technical for a marketer. I write Python and SQL, build my own automations and AI assistants, and treat every marketing idea as a hypothesis the data gets to judge. When AI assistants started answering buyers' vendor questions, I didn't wait for someone else's playbook — I built one, and it worked.
If your marketing is busy but your pipeline doesn't show it, that's the exact problem I enjoy most. Tell me about it — the worst case is you get a useful outside read.

Questions
Things people usually ask
What is answer-engine optimization (AEO)?
It's the work of making sure your company shows up — accurately — when buyers ask AI assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity for recommendations. It blends structured data, clear content about who you are and who you serve, and third-party citations, then measures your visibility share over time. In a recent engagement, AI visibility grew from 16% to 27% in 30 days.
What does a fractional marketing leader actually do?
The same job a VP of Marketing does — strategy, budget, channels, automation, reporting — for a set number of hours each week, at a fraction of a full-time hire's cost. We scope every engagement against pipeline created and cost per opportunity, so we both always know whether it's working.
Who do you usually work with?
B2B SaaS and healthtech companies, usually between $2M and $50M in revenue, where marketing is busy but the pipeline doesn't reflect it. I've spent my career in healthtech, fintech, software, and eCommerce.
How quickly do results show up?
Structural fixes — ad account cleanup, conversion tracking, sharper positioning — usually show within 30 to 90 days. In my most recent rebuild, cost per demo fell 68% and demo volume grew 2.4x year over year. I'll always tell you which kind of fix we're making and how long it should take to see.

Two sentences is plenty. I read everything myself and reply within one business day — and if I'm not the right fit, I'll tell you that too.
